Retired heavyweight who was part of the 1996 Mexican Olympic team and went on to compile a 9-5 professional record and train middleweight champion Sergio Martinez.
He played football at Ventura Buena High School and Ventura College.
After his fighting days were over, he opened World Crown Sports Boxing Gym.
He grew up with his family in Mexico, where he learned to box.
