Former cricketer who played for Derbyshire between 1992 and 1993. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He played at Derbyshire until 1995, after which he left the county.
He studied at Durham University from 1992 to 1996. At Durham, he played for the university team.
He took an impressive two wickets on his first-class debut against Glamorgan in the final match of the 1992 season. He played once more for the 1st XI, against Somerset the following summer.
He is the grandson of former Derbyshire captain, Arthur Walker Richardson. He is also the son of William Richardson, who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1959 and 1965.
In his first-class debut, he took the wicket of former Glamorgan batsman Matthew Maynard.
