Professional gamer who is known for his preeminent and prolific career in the fighting game genre. He has gained particular renown for his Ryu specialization in the Street Fighter game franchise, and has largely been considered a pioneer gamer of the genre.
He first entered a Street Fighter II tournament in 1996, where he finished in 1st place.
In the 1998 US Fighting Game Championships, he earned a 1st place finish for his play for 5 separate games. Between 2002 and 2010, he finished with 10 top 8 finishes in fighting game tournaments.
He was born and raised in Westminster, California.
He became the 1st American to ever face Daigo Umehara in tournament play, when he lost a close contest in the 1998 Street Fighter Alpha 3 championships.
