Winner of Female Artist of the Year in 2009 and 2011 at the Classical BRIT Awards, as well as the Young British Classical Performer title in 2006.
She studied at many schools, including the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the Conservatoire de Paris.
She enjoys yachting and is also a visiting professor of trumpet at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She has a son Charlie with her ex-partner, Edward Gardner, a Conductor.
Her second recorded album features the work of Johann Sebastian Bach.
