As of 2015, she stars as one of the leads in the CBC sitcom Schitt's Creek, alongside Eugene and Dan Levy and Catherine O'Hara. Murphy joked on Twitter after receiving the part that her eyebrows, which are similar in shape and size to the Levys' eyebrows, were one of the reasons that she scored the role. The series has won multiple awards since it premiered and season two premiered in 2016. In early 2016, the series was renewed for a third season by CBC, which began airing in January 2017.
