Most well known as a Member of Turkey's Grand National Assembly, she was named Politician of the Year in 2013. She is also a successful Business woman and she earned the title of Business Woman of the Year in 2001.
She earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Middle East Technical University.
At only 24 year-old she founded Turkey's first human resources company.
She and her husband, İzzet Nazlıaka, have two children.
Both she and Abdullah Ocalan gained fame as Turkish political personalities.
