Professional cricketer who plays internationally for the England Test cricket team. In domestic cricket, he plays for Surrey County Cricket Club. He previously played for the Colts Cricket Club in the year 2014.
He was educated at Tendring Technology College. During the 2011 English season, he made his debut for Essex in a first-class match against the touring Sri Lankans at the County Ground, Chelmsford.
In October of 2018, he was added to England's Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka. He made his Test debut for England against Sri Lanka in November of 2018, scoring 107 in the first innings. Foakes had been in line to play his maiden home Test series, but due to a hamstring injury, he couldn't be part of England's Test squad for their series against New Zealand in 2021.
He is in a relationship with Lynsey Wilson.
He and fellow cricket player Joe Root have both played for the England men's cricket team.
