Bent Jensen was born in Denmark. Bent Jensen is the owner and CEO of Linak, a Danish company that manufactures and sells linear actuators. The devices convert power into linear motion. They're used in industrial equipment, furniture and healthcare equipment such as hospital beds. Jensen's grandfather founded the company in 1907 and it originally made pulleys, grinding mills and forges. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering, in 1976 Jensen joined the firm with an idea for a new product. That product became the linear actuator. The company started selling the devices in 1979 and in the mid-1980s began manufacturing electronic control boxes as well. Today the company has factories in Denmark, the U.S., China and Slovakia.
