The controversial New Yorker was a cab driver before entering the television and radio industry in the mid1980s. He became producer of WFAN's popular show, Imus in the Morning, as well as playing an antagonist to main host Don Imus. Mcguirk was well known for his on-point impersonations of celebrities, including Maya Angelou and Muhammad Ali, – and he was also known for his out-right views. One of his most controversial views included attacking Barack Obama, calling him a "jug-eared neophyte". An on-air incident, involving the Rutgers University Women's basketball team, led Mcguirk and Imus being fired in 2007. Mcguirk referred to the team as "hardcore hos". Since then, he was a special guest on Jay Severin's radio show as well as appearing on Fox's Hannity & Colmes to discuss his dismissal. A few months after his dismissal, Mcguirk was reunited with Imus for the controversial show on WABC. As well as serving as a producer, Mcguirk had an on-air role on the show.
