Known as the son of the renown collegiate basketball coach John Calipari. He is also a basketball player in his own right. At the conclusion of his 2016 senior high school season, he announced his intention to join his father's Kentucky Wildcats team as a walk-on.
He played his first two years of high school basketball at Lexington Christian Academy in Lexington, Kentucky. He then transferred to MacDuffie High School in Massachusetts.
During the summer prior to his senior year in high school, he played with the Kentucky Travelers Nike Elite Youth basketball team.
His mother's name is Ellen and he has sisters named Megan and Erin.
His father has coached numerous successful NBA players, including Derrick Rose and DeMarcus Cousins.
