Martial arts icon, actor, and filmmaker whose best known films include the 1970s features Enter the Dragon, The Big Boss, Fist of Fury and Way of the Dragon.
He began his martial arts training under the Wing Chun Teacher Yip Man in 1954.
He popularized Kung-fu in the Western world through film, and created his own philosophy and practice called Jeet Kune Do.
He married Linda Emery in 1964, and the couple had two children together. His son Brandon, also an actor, tragically died while filming the 1994 movie The Crow.
He was the Jeet Kune Do mentor of NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
