Excelled at chamber music, counterpoint, and accompaniment while studying at the Paris Conservatory under Jacques Fevrier.
His first appearance was on Radio France in 1961 as a soloist.
He became known for premiering the new works of such composers as Gilbert Amy, Georges Aperghis, André Boucourechliev, Maurice Ohana, and Luis de Pablo.
His family was residing in Paris when he was born.
He was able to master the chamber music of such composers as Johannes Brahms thanks to Fevrier.
