He has been nominated for the prestigious Marconi Award on three separate occasions and his show received the Dallas Observer's Best Local Sports Radio Show award for 2011. Miller is a noted philanthropic alumni of The University of North Texas in Denton, Texas where he spent much of his time dabbling in bush-league ham radio. In his spare time, Miller enjoys looking like a million bucks – Craig completed his first Ironman triathlon in 2014. In 2012, he was sidelined as an extra in "Magic Mike" with groin soreness, but appears somewhere in the credits.
