Left-handed pitcher who had a breakout 2015 season with the Houston Astros, winning the AL Cy Young Award, making the MLB All-Star Game and leading the American League in wins. He helped the Astros win the World Series in 2017.
He won a state championship at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He played college baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks before being drafted by the Astros in the seventh round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
In 2015, he became the first pitcher in MLB history to finish the season with an undefeated record at home with at least 14 wins.
His parents are Dennis and Teresa Keuchel. He has an older sister named Krista.
He has played alongside fellow pitcher Pat Neshek in Houston.
