She was only eighteen when she gave birth to her son, Eminem.
Many of Eminem's early songs criticized his mother, however the 2014 single "Headlights" served as an apology for years of scorn.
She began dating Marshall Bruce Mathers II at fifteen. Three years later, they had Eminem and not long after Mathers II left her and their eighteen month old son. She has since remarried three times.
Her granddaughter is Hailie Scott.
