About
Former welterweight and light middleweight that boxed professionally for just over nine years. He was the WBO men's welterweight title holder for three years during the 1990s. He fought in 30 boxing matches before eventually retiring in the year1996.
He first began boxing as a teenage boy. At the age of 17, he won a silver medal at the 1987 World Junior Boxing Championships in Havana, Cuba.
After defeating Lorenzo Smith via decision, he became the 1993 WBO men's welterweight title holder. He defended his boxing title five different times before eventually losing to Jose Luis Lopez in April of 1996.
He lives along with his family in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.
