Bodenheimer was named ESPN's president in late 1998 and ABC Sports' president about five years later. He is credited with launching various ESPN satellite networks and programming, including ESPNHD, ESPN Plus, ESPN PPV, ESPN3, ESPNU, and ESPN Deportes, among others.
