Harry Elfont was born on April 05, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, is Writer, Producer, Director. Writer/director Harry Elfont met partner, writer/director Deborah Kaplan, at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts' prestigious film school. In a strange coincidence, they discovered that their parents were friends and that they both attended neighboring high schools in Philadelphia. Elfont headed to California after college, already having sold a writing pitch to a major studio, where he joined forces with Kaplan, who had already relocated to Los Angeles and was working behind the scenes in the movie business. Together, they crafted The Family Way, a romantic comedy that was purchased by Can't Hardly Wait (1998) producer Jenno Topping during her stint at The Ladd Company. The writing duo continued working with Topping, writing A Very Brady Sequel. Elfont and Kaplan also lent their talents as contributing writers to Homeward Bound 2 and Jingle All The Way. Elfont, a licensed student pilot, enjoys flying in his leisure time as well as tinkering with photography. Can't Hardly Wait (1998) was both Elfont and Kaplan's directorial debut.
