Norwegian singer-songwriter known for her work in the symphonic and gothic metal genres. She was a member of Trail of Tears and performed on their first two albums, Disclosure in Red and Profoundemonium. In 2003, she formed the symphonic metal band Imperia.
She joined Trail of Tears in 1997.
She and her bandmates in Imperia covered "The Lotus Eaters" by Australian neoclassical darkwave duo Dead Can Dance for a 2004 tribute album. She provided guest vocals for death metal band Nox's 2003 EP Zazaz.
Her birth name is Margrethe Jacobsen. She has a daughter named Angel and a son named Joackim.
She and Mark Jansen were bandmates in the Dutch symphonic metal band Sahara Dust, which was renamed Epica after Michaelsen's departure.
