Silent film Director of the 1948 silent neo-realist film Children of the Beehive and its 1951 sequel Children of the Beehive: What Happened Next. His films often explored the themes of maternal self-sacrifice and the burdens of womanhood.
He studied at Hokkaido Unviersity but did not graduate.
