Famous as a Writer of both romance novels and crime thrillers, Johansen penned such popular books as White Satin (1985); A Tough Man to Tame (1991); The Killing Game (1999); and Eight Days to Live (2010).
She published her first romance novel, Touch the Horizon, in 1984. A decade and a half later, she launched her popular Eve Duncan crime series.
Her historical romance novels include The Golden Barbarian and The Beloved Scoundrel.
A native of Missouri, she later settled in Georgia and raised two children. Her son, Roy, grew up to be an acclaimed fiction author and Screenwriter.
Both Johansen and fellow American Writer Anne Stuart became famous for their romance novels.
