Nicknamed The Package, he was the number 5 overall pick of the Western Bulldogs in the 2012 Australian Football League draft. He was the Bulldogs leading goalkicker in 2015 and named to the All-Australian team that year.
He was recruited from the under-18 Australian rules football competition known as The TAC Cup while playing for the Bendigo Pioneers.
He was named an AFL Rising Star nominee in 2014.
He has a daughter named Milla with his partner Abby.
He played under captain Robert Murphy for the Western Bulldogs.
