Known mononymously as Janna, she skyrocketed to the top of the Finnish music industry with her 2014 self-titled album Janna topping the official Finnish album chart, Suomen virallinen lista. Her music mixes R&B and soul.
She made her debut in 2007 with the critically acclaimed album Right Now. She released her follow up just a year later titled The Makings of Me.
She signed with Universal Music Finland in 2013.
She was born in Helsinki, Finland to parents Maarit and Sami Hurmerinta. She was previously married to singer/actor Juno.
She appeared as herself on a couple of episode of Putous, a show which heavily featured Aku Hirviniemi.
