Lead singer of the American band Good Charlotte, known for hits such as "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" and "The Young & the Hopeless." He co-founded the band with his identical twin brother Benji Madden in 1995.
Born in Waldorf, Maryland, he was raised by his parents Robin Madden and Roger Combs alongside Benji as well as his older brother Josh and younger sister Sarah.
In 2012, he became a judge on The Voice Australia.
For about a year, he dated Actress Hilary Duff, who was 16 when he was 25. He then began dating Nicole Richie and the couple had a daughter named Harlow in 2008 and a son named Sparrow in 2009 before getting married on December 11, 2010.
Good Charlotte has a cameo in the 2001 comedy film Not Another Teen Movie, starring Chris Evans.
