American mountain climber who became the youngest person to climb Mount Everest on May 22, 2010. He was 13 years, 10 months and 10 days old when he reached the summit of Everest.
He grew up in Big Bear Lake, California.
It is likely that his record will never be broken as restrictions have been implemented to prevent those under 16 years of age from receiving climbing licenses.
He was born to Paul Romero and Leigh Anne Drake.
He and George Mallory both climbed Mount Everest.
