American actor who debuted in The Lion King on Broadway in 2006 and starred in The Soloist in 2009. He also appeared in the feature films High School Musical 3: Senior Year and A Raisin in the Sun. In 2015, he was arrested after a shootout with police, leading to a hiatus from acting.
He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and began acting in church plays when he was seven years-old. At age nine, he traveled to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career and quickly booked national commercials for Shoney's and Mercedes-Benz.
He matriculated at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2012, the same year he starred on Broadway in The FLIGHT.
He grew up with a sister named Zion.
He co-starred with Tony Award-winning Actress Audra McDonald in a TV movie version of Lorraine Hansberry's famous play, A Raisin in the Sun.
