Swedish physicist who is known for being awarded the 1981 Nobel Prize in Physics for developing the method of Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis.
He received his doctorate from the University of Stockholm. He was a professor at the Royal Institute of Technology from 1951 to 1954.
In 1975, he became a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. He was still active as a scientist at the time of his death.
He is the son of Manne Siegbahn.
