Though he also appeared in the horror movie parody film Stan Helsing, Kirzinger is perhaps best known for his roles as Rusty Nail and Jason Vorhees in, respectively, Joy Ride 3: Road Kill and Freddy vs. Jason.
Before being cast as Jason in Freddy vs. Jason, he played a small role in the 1989 film Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.
A stuntman as well as an actor, he contributed to television series such as The X-Files, Psych, and Supernatural.
He and his brother, Canadian professional football player Dave Kirzinger, grew up in Saskatchewan.
In different films in the Friday the 13th horror series, he and Kane Hodder both played the role of Jason Vorhees.
