From a young age Kerri had a driving energy and passion for drama, after leaving school she went on to study art, media, and theatre at college. She then moved to London to study Modern Drama Studies at Brunel University, and she began working professionally as an actress in 2001. Since then Kerri has gone on to become a theatre director and producer also. Kerri undertook further training through an audio production Masters Degree at London's University of Westminster and often undertakes sound and music collaborations.Currently based in London, Kerri's work covers many productions within the BBC (Including Small Island, Radio 4 Drama, and several BBC series), ITV, Channel 4 and a range of UK independents. She also works within a broad range of theatres, in 2014 Kerri directed BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee Cathy Tyson in 'Snakes and Ladders' (Arcola Theatre). In 2013 Kerri won the 'Overall Excellence Award' at The New York Fringe International Festival for her production of 'Kemble's Riot' starring Olivier Award winner Guy Masterson, which she directed and produced. 2012/13 saw her perform at London's South Bank Centre, Alderburgh Festival, Brighton Dome and during Black History Month with her one woman show 'Memories of Mermaids'. In 2006 Kerri set up Rolemop Arts production company in Brighton, with whom she continues to work with as an associate director and producer.

She joined the BBC in 1993 and over the next six years worked in news and current affairs in Belfast on Good Morning Ulster, Glasgow on Good Morning Scotland, London on the Today programme on BBC Radio 4 and later for the Ukrainian and then Education sections of the BBC World Service. Her broadcasting career includes early stints as a traffic and travel reporter, presenting the English/French bilingual output for west Africa for the BBC World Service and more recently 'Weekend Extra' for BBC Radio Ulster. Highlights to date in her career include interviewing Jeremy Paxman, Mitchell and Webb, Amanda Holden, Michael Palin, and her teenage hero, David Bowie.Kerry now has an afternoon slot Monday - Thursday after Hugo Duncan Kerry is on air from 15:00 - 17:00 on BBC Radio Ulster replacing the Alan Simpson show in 2014
