An American Novelist and short story Writer, he is most famous for his Edward X. Delaney series. The debut work in the series, The Anderson Tapes, was published in 1970.
After graduating from Wabash College, he worked at Macy's Department Store in New York City.
He received a Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for his debut novel.
