Palestinian political figure and member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine who was convicted of hijacking an airliner in 1970.
She attended Medical School in Beirut before hijacking her first place in 1969.
She is considered the Poster Girl for Palestinian Militancy and she was released from prison in a prisoner exchange for civilian hostages kidnapped by her fellow PFLP members.
Her family fled to Lebanon during the 1948 Palestinian Exodus.
In her autobiography she writes about crying upon learning of the assassination of John F Kennedy.
