Mahendra Prasad was born in Delhi, India, India. Newcomer to the Forbes Billionaires list, Mahendra Prasad is a long-standing member of parliament and the founder of Indian generics maker Aristo Pharmaceuticals. With annual revenue of close to $300 million for the fiscal year ended March 2016, Aristo is among the top 20 pharma companies in India and has a presence overseas in countries such as Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. Prasad, who hails from the eastern state of Bihar, started a pharma venture in partnership with fellow billionaire Samprada Singh but went on to set up Aristo in 1973. The low profile tycoon, referred to as King Mahendra, loves to travel and enjoys gardening and deep-sea diving.
