Indian right-handed batsman who is known for his years with Indian Premiere League teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors India and the Kolkata Knight Riders. In 2008, he was a member of the Indian team which won the Under-19 World Cup.
He started playing cricket in the third grade and attended Kendria Vidyalaya ASC. He later joined the Karnataka State Cricket Association made his domestic debut with Karnataka in 2006.
In May 2009, he became the first Indian in Indian Premiere League history to score a century.
His father served in the military.
He has been teammates with team captain Gautam Gambhir on the Kolkata Knight Riders.
