Marc Coucke was born on January 27, 1965 in Belgium. Marc Coucke made his billion-dollar fortune building Omega Pharma into a juggernaut purveyor of over-the-counter drugs and health and wellness products. He founded the company in 1987 and sold it to pharma manufacturer Perrigo in 2014 for more than $3 billion. He owned half and was paid in cash and stock. Since then, he's made small investments in healthcare companies including Fagron, Mithra, and MDxHealth, with a focus on fighting cancer. A sports enthusiast, Coucke owns a Belgian pro cycling team, as well as stakes in Belgian soccer club K.V. Oostende, which he chairs, and French soccer club Lille, in which he has a 5% stake. In 2012, he won the Belgian version of the show MasterChef.

In 1987 with Yvan Vindevogel, he founded Omega Pharma a Belgian pharmaceuticals company that grew rapidly and in 2006 employed three thousand people whilst operating in thirty countries. He remained Chief Executive Officer of Omega Pharma until 30 September 2006 returning to the post in March 2008. Whilst his Business profile represents considerable achievement there have been high publicised failures that include the launch of Omega Pharma's E-Waves phone Chip in 2008. It was withdrawn shortly after release as it did not work.
2017
In 2007, he was featured as a member of the jury in the television show De bedenkers. In 2013 he became the major shareholder and chairman of K V Oostende. Five years later, on 20 December 2017, he bought RSC Anderlecht.
