Dixie Chicks fiddler, mandolin player, and vocalist who won national fiddling championships as a young woman.
She started fiddling lessons at age twelve and busked at a variety of bluegrass festivals.
She is left-handed.
Her first husband was Ted Seidel; after their divorce in November 1999, she married Gareth Maguire on August 10, 2001. The couple had three daughters, twins Eva Ruth and Kathleen Emilie, born in 2004 and Rosie born in 2008. She and Gareth divorced in 2013.
She and Natalie Maines are bandmates in the Dixie Chicks.
