She earned her undergraduate degree in agricultural science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2000. She subsequently earned her master's degree in media studies from Howard University in 2006.
She created and starred in the web series The Telecommuters in 2012. She subsequently starred in her own 3-episode series Heartbreak in 2013.
She was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
