Italian race car driver who made his NASCAR debut in 2006. He finished second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans competition in both 2004 and 2005.
He competed in 7 Formula One races in 1995.
He was co-champion of the 2004 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype.
He had two sons, Marco and Matteo, with his wife Tatiana Papis.
He married the daughter of fellow race car driver Emerson Fittipaldi.
