Catcher who debuted for the Seattle Mariners in 2013. He was originally selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 29th round of the 2009 MLB Draft then after not signing with the A's, the Mariners drafted him 3rd overall in 2012.
He played college baseball at the University of Florida and won the Golden Spikes Award, given to the best amateur baseball player in the United States.
He was rated as the Seattle Mariners' top prospect in 2013 by Baseball America.
He was born to Greg and Paola Zunino.
In 2013, he became teammates with first baseman Justin Smoak, who also had a standout collegiate career.
