Member of Bahrain's royal family and commander of Bahrain's Royal Guard. He is also recognized for having served as the president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
He attended the Sandhurst Military Academy in England.
In 1996, he received the honor of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
He married Shaikha bint Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum in September 2009.
