Known simply as Nora, she rose to fame in 1994 after the release of her debut album Sandiwara. She would go on to release over a dozen more studio albums and compilations albums throughout her over two decade long career.
An aspiring singer even as a schoolgirl, she participated in talent contests as a child. She would later kick off her career by winning HMI Star in 1991.
She has won numerous Malaysian Music Industry Awards including the 1995 award for Best New Female Artist.
She and her late husband Johan Nawawi co-created the animated series Ummi...Ceritalah Pada Kami in 2012. The couple had one son, Mohd Syakir Iman.
Her 1997 single "Cinta Di Akhir Garisan" featured Ziana Zain and Ning Baizura.
