Italian-American Architect who designed Arcosanti, a community planned for 5,000 people outside Phoenix, Arizona. He also set up the Cosanti Foundation.
He earned his Ph.D. from Politecnico di-Torino in 1946. He was noticed early on for a bridge design that the Museum of Modern Art acquired and displayed.
He was concerned with the environment and ecology, creating the concept of arcology.
His family was residing in Turin when he was born. He married Corolyn Woods and had two children.
He was in fellowship with Architect Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin and Taliesin West for over a year.
