Early in her career, she understudied the role of Nora in the Broadway production of A Doll's Life.
In 1986, she was nominated for a Tony Award for her role as Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to william Edward and Suzanne Cohenour. She married Thomas Bliss.
She and Jan Maxwell both performed in the 1998 Broadway revival of The Sound of Music.
