Indian actor and Director who received two Best Actor awards for his work in the Telugu hit Gabbar Singh. In 2013, he received the Big Telugu Entertainment Award for Best Actor for his role in Attarintiki Daredi. In 2014, he ventured into politics, founding the Jana Sena Party.
He appeared early in his career in the 1996 Telugu film, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi.
He earned a black belt in karate and made use of his martial arts background in several of his action films.
He was married to Nandini from 1997 to 2008. Following his divorce, he wed costume designer Renu Desai, with whom he had a son and a daughter. After their divorce, in 2013, he married Anna Lezhneva.
His older brothers, Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu, also had successful careers in the Indian Telugu film industry.
