Former Canadian hurdler who won the 2003 World Champion title in the 100 meter hurdles and the 2004 World Indoor Champion title in the 60 meter hurdle. She was a silver medalist at the 2007 World Championships and the 2010 World Indoor Championships. She set the Canadian record for the 100 meter hurdles in 2004 at 12.46 seconds, and retired from competition in 2013.

She began hurdling at Pine Ridge Secondary School and later would win the Ontario high school hurdling championship in 1998. She studied kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In her first year competing at the university level, she earned All-American honors and set the record for the fastest time by a freshman in NCAA history for the 100 meter hurdles. She won three consecutive University of Illinois Female Athlete of the Year awards during her college career. Also an author, her memoir, My Mother's Daughter: A Memoir of Struggle and Triumph, became an instant national best-seller.

She was born in Oshawa, Ontario. She posted a picture on Instagram celebrating Valentine's Day with her husband Morgan Campbell in February 2023.

She and Gail Devers competed in the women's 100 meter hurdles semi-final at the 9th IAAF World Athletics Championship in Paris in 2003.
