Jamaican-Canadian hockey star who became well-known while playing for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. He was selected second overall by the Kings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the team in 2021. He won a Gold Medal with Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championships.
In 2018, he won both OHL Rookie of the Year and CHL Rookie of the Year.
In January 2022, he scored his first NHL goal in a matchup against the New York Islanders. In April 2023, he scored his first NHL Playoff goal in a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.
His father, Clinton Byfield, is Jamaican and his mother, Nicole Kasper, is Canadian.
