As for her mother, she became a shareholder and chairman of the group in 1994, following the death of her husband and Camargo Correa's founder, Sebastiao Camargo. Nowadays, the group employs more than 57,000 workers in 21 countries, and plans to expand further in Latin America, Europe and Africa. Grupo Camargo Correa aside, Renata has been actively involved in non-profit organizations since 1975. Also, she joined a group of entrepreneurial leaders in 1998 to create ICE-the Institute of Entrepreneurial Citizenship- focused on engaging private sector leaders in social innovation.
