Drummer in the award-winning contemporary Christian band MercyMe. They rose to fame with their singles "I Can Only Imagine," "Homesick" and "So Long Self," all of which landed on Billboard magazine's Adult Contemporary chart.
He, along with band members Bart, Nathan, James and Michael, created the band in 1994. Though they released several independent albums in the 1990's, their first studio album, Almost There, came in 2001. It became a RIAA two-time platinum album.
Between 2002 and 2005 the band had won eight Dove Awards. Several of their songs landed on Billboard magazine's best Christian songs of the decade, including "Word of God Speak" which took the number one position.
He and his wife welcomed a son and a daughter.
Along with Steven Curtis Chapman and the band Third Day, they released the single "I See Love" for the film The Passion of the Christ.
