Singer-songwriter in the Gospel, pop, and country genres, she is best known for her attempts to join American Idol during season 10, 11, and 12. Her brother Colton Dixon made it to the top seven during season 11. She released her first single "I'm Changed" in July 2015.
Both she and her brother auditioned for American Idol during season 10. Colton almost made it through to the live show but Schyler didn't get passed auditions. For season 11 Colton went to the auditions just to support her but the judges made him. Both he and Schyler advanced to the next round but only Colton made it to the show. Again, during season 12, she never made it to the show.
She is of Christian faith and likes to share religious messages through her music. Both her and her brother are known throughout the Christian music circuit and have toured with various Christian bands.
She was born to Mike and Teresa Dixon. She has two dogs named Sammy and Asa. She began dating Deavon Walden in 2012.
During her second audition for American Idol on season 11, judge Jennifer Lopez insisted she bring her brother in, even though he was not going to audition.
