Singer-songwriter and Pianist best known as a founding member of the vocal group Pentatonix. He was a finalist on CBS's Star Search before winning The Sing-Off with Pentatonix.
He has been a musical performer since the age of eight and was a member of the SoCal VoCals, a popular and accomplished a cappella group at the University of Southern California.
He has performed the National Anthem and "God Bless America" at home games for the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks. He runs an enormously popular YouTube channel called sup3rfruit with fellow Pentatonix member Mitch Grassi.
He has a sister named Lauren. He is close with his parents and his nephew. Hoying is openly gay.
He is a member of Pentatonix alongside Avi Kaplan.
