Sergei Petrov was born in Russia. Sergei Petrov is founder and owner of Rolf Group of Companies, the biggest seller of foreign cars in Russia (Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Jeep, Ford, Mazda, Hyundai). The company sold 80,200 new cars in 2013. That same year, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation increased their combined stake in Rolf Import (LLC), subsidiary of Rolf Group of Companies that distributes Mitsubishi cars in Russia, to 58%. Petrov is a former officer of the Soviet Army; he was a military pilot, discharged from the army due to his participation in anti-soviet meetings. In 1982 he started his civilian career as a mechanic. In the 1990s, he became a director of a car leasing joint venture called Rozek. In 2007 he became a member of the lower house of parliament. Petrov was the only Russian billionaire to sign a resolution in which 16 of the world's leading businessmen called for Russian authorities to peacefully end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as a means of preventing a second cold war. He made his debut for the main FC Zenit Saint Petersburg squad on 13 March 2011 in a Russian Premier League game against FC Terek Grozny.
